Cassia release their new single ‘Loosen Up’ on Distiller Records, ahead of their UK headline tour in October and November.
‘Loosen Up’ draws inspiration from dreams of everyday life, routine conversations and the importance of relishing the little things in life amidst the chaos. With its joyful melody, instantly foot-tappable riff and carefree lyricism, ‘Loosen Up’ aims to make the ordinary extraordinary and soundtrack the simple moments we take for granted. The track came about organically in a jam session, drawing on the music of The Black Keys, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The Police. Of the process behind the track, frontman Rob Ellis recalls “trying new ideas and approaches to mould and fuse styles that I love together. From the start I knew this track needed to pack a punch and be full of energy and passion.”
Speaking about the track, the band say: “We think ‘Loosen Up’ is one of the best tracks we’ve come up with so far. It sums up what we think is important as a band and the message we want to spread in the future. We want to write music for people to loosen up and come together to. It’s definitely one of our favourites, we think it’s a bop.”
Since signing to Distiller Records earlier this year, Cassia have been shortlisted for Best Live Act at the Association of Independent Music Awards, alongside the likes of Idles and DMA’s. Their latest single ‘Get Up Tight’ has garnered support from BBC Radio 1, The Independent, Radio X and CLASH, amassing well over 100,000 streams within a matter of weeks. The Northern trio have built a cult following in the last few years, playing countless headline shows to sold out crowds across the UK and Europe. This Autumn will see them play some of the biggest headline shows of their career so far, including dates at The Garage, London and the 1,500 capacity O2 Ritz, Manchester.
