Marrone

Previous experience at ‘Indifest’? –
Backing Vocalist with Tiziana Callejja in 2011

How do you see your chances in winning ‘Indifest’ this year?
I haven’t heard the other songs yet 

What is your opinion on Competitions(local)?
I believe that in Malta we have a lot of talent, and local competitions are giving an opportunity to people who love music and art in general to share their talent and show their abilities. I also believe that nowadays competitions are offering the possibility of going abroad once you win to participate in further competitions, so this exposes the singer/artist more, which in my opinion is great.

What is your favourite music style?
Musicals and Soft Rock

When and how did your life in music start?
From a very young age I started studying the pianoforte, and until I got my diploma I had already joined various choirs including the University of Malta choir and St. Monica Choir.

Do you write your own stuff? – and if so what inspires you?
No! I wish I did, but whenever I listen to the music I compose it sounds like crap. So I’d rather share my ideas with a composer and then leave it up to him to develop my ideas.

What are your biggest ambitions in music?
I’ve always dreamt of going abroad to continue my studies in Musical Theatre and although it is not an impossible task, it requires a lot of money. But I do wish someday I’ll have the opportunity to take part (even as an extra) in a West End musical.

A 3 word comment about The Eurovision Song Contest?
A stepping stone!

Describe a typical day in your life?
I wake up at around 7:15. I have a bath and sit for about 5 mins in front of the wardrobe wondering what to wear for the day. Then I set off for work. As I am a teacher I start school at 8.00. So basically I spend my first 6 hours of the day teaching and having some nice chats with my great colleagues during free lessons. At 2.00 I go home and usually I take an afternoon nap. In the evenings I am often busy with rehearsals, preparing work stuff, or meeting up with some of my friends.
