Win a limited edition 7” vinyl of Thirsty Quireboys’ new single “10, 7 and Possibly 6”
Ends: 31 December 2026
Thirsty Quireboys are back with “10, 7 and possibly 6” - a raw, emotionally charged blast of rock ’n’ roll taken from their acclaimed new album God Bless America – Best of Thirsty.
Released in honour of the late Guy Bailey, the track captures the unmistakable chemistry between Bailey’s instinctive guitar work and Spike’s unmistakable vocal grit, reigniting the creative spark that shaped the band’s sound from the very beginning.
Originally intended as a one-off tribute, the song became the catalyst for a full posthumous collaboration. Spike’s first take floored everyone in the room, prompting Chris Johnstone and legendary producer Chris Kimsey (Rolling Stones) to push for more. The result: a vivid, three-minute cinematic vignette that opens the album and pulls listeners straight into Bailey’s world. Lynne Jackaman also features, adding even more depth to Spike’s performance.
Chris Johnstone calls it “two and a half minutes of rock ’n’ roll mayhem… Guy would have absolutely loved it.”
To celebrate the release - and The Quireboys’ current UK tour - we’re giving Music News readers the chance to win a special limited edition 7” vinyl of “10, 7 and possibly 6”, available only at the shows and via Cadiz Merch Store.
The accompanying video follows Spike alone on an underground train, shot in a warm, desaturated palette that mirrors the track’s smoky, reflective mood. It’s a journey through tunnels, memories and the unmistakable rumble of life.
