The James Hunter Six returns with new album ‘Off The Fence’ win three copies on vinyl!

The James Hunter Six have announced their eleventh studio album, Off The Fence, set for release on January 16th via Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound. This landmark record marks exactly 40 years since the British soul stylist’s 1986 recording debut.

The album features a high-profile reunion with legendary Irish singer Van Morrison on the jump-blues track "Ain’t That A Trip." The pair’s history dates back to the early 90s, when Hunter toured as part of Morrison's ensemble. "Hearing him actually singing words I wrote gave me a real kick," Hunter notes of the collaboration.

Produced by longtime collaborator Bosco Mann (Gabriel Roth), the 12-track collection blends Hunter’s trademark smooth vocal control with his signature "British sardonicism." From the Northern Soul-inspired "A Sure Thing" to the haunting, guitar-driven "Here And Now," the album showcases the tight, telepathic chemistry of the Six.

Despite being told he was "too old" for a record deal 20 years ago, the Grammy-nominated artist continues to bridge the gap between 50s R&B and modern soul. Off The Fence is available for pre-order now here.
