iTunes accidentally leaked Bon Iver’s new album a month before its official release date.
Rolling Stone reports that iTunes users had discovered the entirety of Bon Iver’s second self-titled album was available on the online music shop, a month before it was meant to go up.
iTunes hasn’t commented but it looks like the whole album was put up for sale when they were only meant to offer the first single – ‘Calgary’ – to shoppers.
A handful of users were able to buy the album before iTunes took it off but it was inevitable that it soon appeared on torrents.
The band’s frontman Justin Vernon and their label Jagjaguwar both declined to comment to Rolling Stone about the slip-up.
Bon Iver will officially be released on June 21, and since the band and label are both independent, it’d be nice if everyone could hold off.
