You might be familiar with the sound of this four-piece from London. Previously known as ‘Lulu and the Lampshades’, who had a viral hit with ‘You’re Gonna Miss Me’, the group have re-emerged under the new title ‘Landshapes’ and with their debut album, ‘Rambutan’.

‘Rambutan’ can be described as a very easy to listen to album, one which you could have on in the background when you’re entertaining guests or kicking back at home. You can’t help but feel relaxed and content while you take in the 10-track album, which consists of some old, re-worked and new tracks. With a little bit of ‘The Duke Spirit’ about them, the stand out tracks include ‘In Limbo’, ‘Demons’ and ‘Detour Ahead’, which have helped in reshaping these four hardworking perfectionists for 2013.

The uniqueness of the band is emphasised with their live sets, which sees members Luisa, Heloise and Jemma shifting between vocals and instruments with relative ease, leaving drummer Dan to keep things ticking over nicely. The bands togetherness is also highlighted with the fact that they spent time sculpturing ‘Rambutan’ until all members were truly satisfied with the final outcome.

Overall, you can gain the full value of the album after a few listens, but if you’re waiting for it to ‘really’ kick-in, you might be waiting a while.
