Modern Italiano troubadours Angus Mc Og return with the 2nd album Arnaut inspired by Frenchman Arnaut Daniel praised by the likes of Dante and TS Eliot.
Their frontman Antonio Tavoni ,originally an alternative rock guitarist from Modena, Italy in 2009 he put down the electric guitars and picked up an acoustic and started writing music folk songwriting. The product of their efforts 4 years later(after finding the rest of the band and making a debut) is one of critical acclaim.
Mixing the art of poetic songwriting with a rural mountainous sound found in the Italian countryside Arnaut takes us through a journey fitting for a summers day. Chilled sound with the added dose of aggression ringing back to the alt rock days of the frontman. Although the music itself is good certain kudos has to put to the art of lyrics which has made a return- with a helpful sheet within the cd cover. Truly it is modern poetry.
The best track is Chaos is Busy is arguably one of the best folk tracks I’ve heard all year.
