A new album ‘ Fused' by Tony Iommi (of Black Sabbath fame) may have rather less appeal now than a few years back, but stick Glenn Hughes (ex Deep Purple) in the mix and a few heads will turn.
Compared to Geezer Butler's latest solo effort (bassist of Black Sabbath) this is an altogether more solid affair with the thrust of Iommi's riffs being evocative still to repeat listens at least.

Tracks like ‘Dopamine', ‘ Wasted Again' and ‘ Deep Inside a Shell' all have the elements of new hard rock. Slick production, soaring vocals usually multi-layered, good riffs with pop rock choruses, all brains and skill but not so much heart.

Hats off to the riff-maestro in still getting the vibe to ‘rock'. A visit to an Iommi gig could still be daring and captivating on this form.
