The atmosphere at The Big Beach Boutique 5 was chilled as Maya Jane Coles, with her funky house, warmed and welcomed the slowly appearing crowd to the Amex Stadium, Brighton.
Maya created the vibrant environment that continued throughout the evening. Luciano picked up where Maya left off with a mixture of instrumental pulsating beats, livening up the crowd and energising the atmosphere. Beaming smiles appeared on Luciano’s face as his Latin influenced tunes with the addition of horn and drum sounds enthused the crowd who were now hyped and ready for the ‘Three Deck Wizard’.
With his ‘Revolutionary Recruit’ themed backdrop of visual effects filling the football stand, Carl Cox filled the 120m screen with bright, stimulating and beat driven animation. The crowd went wild at the sights and thumping bass beats. Fat Boy Slim, the finale to his own party, appeared confident and psyched up as he ran onto the stage to roars of excitement. Clearly ‘F*cking in Heaven’ to be at the home of his beloved Brighton and Hove Albion FC, he opened with full screen shots of Brighton, leading the crowd in ‘You’re Not From Brighton’.
The mixture of video, pyrotechnics and laser lights blended with great new twists and additions to his infamous tunes blew the crowd away, creating an incredible atmosphere. The long queues for drinks and bad weather were well forgotten as Norman Cook had the crowd of thousands eating from the palm of his hand, following his direction to raise their hands and jump along to his impressive and eclectic mix of house music into the late hours. A fantastic night was had by all, and as expected, Mr Norman Cook was not a disappointment.
