With many of the original indie revival acts a few albums down the line these days, there is space for some fresh blood in the charts, and energetic group General Fiasco have thrown themselves into the running with this single.

From the EP of the same name, their second after 'Waves', the tune immediately grabs attention with its upbeat tempo and guitars.

The band formed in 2007 but only released debut album 'Buildings' back in 2010. The four-piece have achieved some critical acclaim but are yet to really take the charts by storm.

While the vocals grate slightly they fit in perfectly with the style and the song sticks in mind just as a pop song should. The band have a similar sound to the Hounds of Love era Futureheads, with a balance of stabbing guitars and rhythm against flowing, vocal-driven sections, and Don't You Ever even has time for a short but sweet guitar solo.

A spring-time release suits, since the song inspires a fresh feeling, hinting at the warmth still to come, but juxtaposes it with a more grounded subject matter.

The sort of band who would be right at home on the Radio 1 stage at the summer's festivals, after debuting on the BBC Introducing stage in 2008, General Fiasco have set themselves up for a smoother introduction than their name might suggest.
