Andy Burrows seems to have a foot in every door, as ex Razorlight drummer, and with musical chums Mark Ronson and Tom Smith from the Editors, as well as projects that include I Am Arrows and We Are Scientists; but deservedly so. With such a knack for writing top notch indie/pop, Burrows returns to the world of the solo artist, as he releases his brand new single, If I Had A Heart; whose guitar lead, sizzling summer synths feel entirely appropriate despite the newly shifted climate. Though, it’s Burrows luscious harmonies, notably on the infectious chorus hook that he chimes, that strikes notes feverously hotter than most of this summer’s hits that, incidentally, have faded as quickly as the 6PM October sun.

Stabby guitars teamed with Burrows soft vocal creates a fantastic contrast and jazzy rhythms remind of Songs About Jane era Maroon 5, but no matter how much you strip this song down and analyse and cross analyse it musically, you’ll get the same answer time and time again. Like the best songs, it is simply a great tune, not because it is complex or clever, just because it is terribly appealing and this is what Burrows does best.

If I Had A Heart is out October 3rd
