Hot Chip have been bounding around this summer – allegedly in some sort of van – and the Leeds/London outfit have been picking up quite the following. Quite right too really. They have an engaging style and thoroughly unpretentious electro-pop with relaxing beats and finished vocals.

This, their single release from their rather engaging (Mercury nominated no less) debut album ‘The Warning' comes with their usual bent of slow and rhythmic electro-funk. It certainly isn't for everyone, but the playground melodic chorus adds a little psychedelia to proceedings and frankly makes it more interesting than it first appears.

While this is all going on, the bass line punches in to give the track a backbone and it plods along monopaced but thoroughly enjoyable. I'm pretty sure you can hear some sort of ‘Sounds of the Forest' in the background, but maybe that's just something to do with the tree house I like to write in.
