The Maltese Islands have long offered a haven for savvy musicophiles to escape the throng and high prices of Ibiza and really chill out in an idilic setting which offers you music and much more.

The region has long hosted The Isle of MTV music extravaganza featuring MTVs biggest acts, Malta Music Week and Sunscape festival. This month is Malta Rocks, the BBC Concert Orchestra featuring It's a Kind of Magic - The Queen Story and Pete Tong Classics there is a veritable feast of music for all. On September 17, Malta Rocks concert, presents the perfect opportunity to showcase the country’s hottest musical talent including Destiny, Kantera, Kersten Graham, Lapes, Michela, Mikaela, Matthew James and Band, Owen Leuellen, Red Electrick, The Busker, The Rifffs, Tribali and Wayne and Band.

An outdoor event that will rock the Granaries in Floriana just outside the main buzz of Valletta in the shadow of St. Publius Church, a stunning location that will be etched forever in your mind.

Organised in strict adherence with COVID-19 protocols and in its first edition, the Malta Tourism Authority-financed concert is scheduled to become an annual event.

Malta Tourism Authority CEO Johann Buttigieg said the event would be the “first chance for some of Malta’s finest to come together on one platform, at a time when safe and controlled seated events can start to take place.”

On September 24, the BBC Concert Orchestra featuring It's a Kind of Magic - The Queen Story comes to town. The granaries in Floriana will once again welcome the world-famous BBC Concert Orchestra on for an extravaganza of sound as they tell the story of one of the world’s greatest rock bands.

This spectacular concert tells the story of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon through their extraordinary hit songs, and through the songs of the music legends who inspired them.

The 60-piece BBC Concert Orchestra and a dynamic rock band, together with a cast of star singers will perform songs by Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Aretha Franklin, John Lennon and more, together with Queen classics, including a re-creation of the whole of the legendary Live Aid set from Wembley Stadium.

Hosted by Tony Hadley, lead singer of the iconic 80’s band Spandau Ballet, Tony will also pay tribute to Queen lending his voice to one of their most iconic hits.

On September 28, Pete Tong Classics, takes over the concert arena with the British DJ bringing his iconic electronic music event featuring The Heritage Orchestra and Jules Buckley to Malta.

Pete Tong Classics promises to be an immense dance party that features the 65-piece Heritage Orchestra, conductor Jules Buckley, lots of synths and special guests singers.

In a career that has seen him sign Run-DMC and Salt-N-Pepa, he played a big role in the evolution of house and dance music by launching label FFRR. At Capital Radio he immersed himself in rave before moving to Radio 1 and launching the long-running Friday night show Essential Selection - ultimately becoming the voice of BBC’s dance programming. His music credentials are exemplary as are the tunes.
