Florence + The Machine will release a brand new, acoustic version of Patricia, exclusively through Amazon Music on 6th July.
Patricia is an exclusive acoustic version of the track from the band’s fourth studio album, High as Hope, which also features collaborations with Kamasi Washington, Sampha, Tobias Jesso Jr, Kelsey Lu and Jamie xx.
On the track, Florence says: “Patricia is actually a little tribute to Patti Smith, but also a little bit about these matriarchal ideas, perhaps the damage that more toxic masculinity can do. I was looking at Patti Smith as a kind of matriarch - as a strong woman - and I was trying to follow in her footsteps.”
From 6th July, listeners can enjoy Patricia as an additional bonus to the album’s highlights including Hunger, [insert link] Big God, [insert link] and Sky Full of Song, [insert link]. The album High as Hope was released on 29th June.
