Kanye West penned a poem about McDonald's for Frank Ocean's Boys Don't Cry magazine.

The 39-year-old rapper is known for his songwriting skills and has written a huge array of catchy hits. But Kanye chose something a little left field after he was asked to think of a poem for the magazine, which was released in conjunction with Frank's new album Blonde.

Instead of using the opportunity to discuss his financial issues or the state of the world - which Kanye has waxed lyrical about on more than one occasion - the father-of-two opted to write a ditty about his love of the Golden Arches.

"McDonalds man, McDonalds man, The French fries had a plan," the open reads. "The salad bad and the ketchup made a band, Cus (because) the French fries had a plan, The French fries had a plan."

Accompanying the poem were snaps of Kanye rolling up to a McDonald's drive-thru, taken by photographer Nabil Elderkin.

Frank delighted fans on Saturday (20Aug16) with Blonde, his second studio album, after the release was delayed on numerous occasions.

The 17-track LP, a follow-up to his Grammy-winning 2012 debut album Channel Orange, also contained his fresh single Nikes, which became available to buy via streaming app Apple Music.

Blonde was released just two days after Frank dropped visual album Endless, and referring to the two records and the Boys Don't Cry magazine in a Tumblr post, Frank wrote: "I had the time of my life making all of this. Thank you all. Especially those of you who never let me forget I had to finish. Which is basically every one of ya’ll.”

Kanye was among the stars who quickly congratulated Frank on his new offering, with the rapper tweeting: "... Frank album on repeat."

Zac Efron tweeted, "Frank Ocean's "Nikes" on repeat. Put on you're (sic) best headphones -thanks for this song it's (hot)! Looking forward to the rest," while Orange Is the New Black star Ruby Rose wrote, "I'll be by the pool listening to Frank Ocean eating an acai bowl and reading a book if anyone needs me..."
