Kid Rock's personal assistant was almost three times over the legal alcohol limit when he died in an ATV accident last month (Apr16).

Mike Sacha, 30, was killed early on 25 April (16) following a barbecue party at the rocker's Whites Creek estate in Nashville, Tennessee.

Reports suggested he lost control of the vehicle on his way back to the property after helping to transport guests from the main house to an Uber cab waiting in the driveway, and now coroners have ruled he was heavily intoxicated at the time of his passing.

According to TMZ.com, Sacha had a blood alcohol level of around .21, and the impact of the crash was so severe, it severed his brain from his spinal cord.

Kid Rock, who discovered Sacha's body hours after the accident, took to his website following the tragedy to pay an emotional tribute to his pal.

"I am beyond devastated to report that my personal assistant Mike Sacha passed away today in an ATV accident here in Nashville," he wrote. "He was a member of our family and one of the greatest young men I have ever had the pleasure to not only work with, but also to become friends with. I know I speak for us all in sharing my deepest condolences to his family. I can not imagine how they must feel. Myself, the band, our family, friends and co-workers are devastated over this loss."

Rock cancelled plans to travel to Michigan the following day (26Apr16) so he could stay with Sacha's body "until I can bring him home to his family". As a result, the singer also pulled out of the Detroit Music Awards on 29 April (16), when he was set to receive the Distinguished Achievement Award from city mayor Mike Duggan. Instead, he deferred his acceptance until next year (17) so he could continue to grieve the loss of his friend.
