The nationwide student Battle of the Bands competition from studentbeans.com has reached its final week, with only 20 bands remaining after 3 weeks of eliminations by public vote.
With over 84 entries from universities and higher education colleges all over the UK, the remaining 20 entries will now go head to head to be crowned Britain’s best student band.
Voting closes at midday on Friday 13th April and all the bands are working hard to drum up more votes around their universities. There have been over 52,000 votes so far with bands are using Facebook, Twitter and local media to gain support.
The winning band will play at the biggest student music festival of the summer, Beach Break Live and win a 2 day music coaching session from NBT Music. The winner will also appear on the final of student digital TV show ‘The Grad Factor’ and have an exclusive interview published on studentbeans.com.
Bands that finish in second and third place will win tickets to Beach Break Live, whilst 5 runners up will appear on the regional shows of ‘The Grad Factor’.
Oliver Brann, editor of studentbeans.com, says “This is a great opportunity for a student band to get a high profile slot at a huge festival which could kick start their music career and give them a real chance to get signed. We’ve been really impressed by the huge amount of support for the bands so far and I’m sure there will be some more twists and turns in the final few days of voting.”
