Maria Lewis has just launched her debut CD single & music video ‘Caccini’s Ave Maria’ during an event held on Saturday, 7th January, 2012 at the National Cultural Centre, the Markiz Mallia Tabone Farmhouse in Mosta.
The CD single was produced, recorded and mixed at Lito’s Place in Floriana, Malta, whilst the printing and pressing was done abroad. The beautiful recording of this track was enhanced by live musicians, namely Dominic Galea and Tatjana Chircop. The photography was in the hands of the young and professional photographer Valentina Lupo whilst the art work was done by the just as professional designer Derek Fenech.
On the CD sleeve, Maria Lewis thanked all her family and friends as well as all those who support her and believe in her. Maria dedicated this CD to her mother Anne who has always encouraged her in her music career.
During the evening, the packed audience was treated to the showcase of the music video which was introduced to the public for the first time. The video was recorded by Era Productions who have recently won several prestigious awards in Europe and America. Video producer Ray Mizzi stated that it was a pleasure working with Maria Lewis and was extremely happy with the final result.
The special guest of the evening was the local artist Mark Schembri who has known Maria since childhood. He officially launched the CD and Video. There is no doubt that the wonderful rendition of this composition will capture the attention of all listeners. The crystal clear and angelic voice of Maria Lewis is embellished by this Celtic-classic fusion interpretation which brings out her Welsh roots together with a warm emotional feel.
