Beyoncé Knowles love to write songs that “reinforce” her confidence.
The singer is currently promoting her new album 4. Beyoncé is renowned for her empowering songs, with her latest record including tracks such as Run the World (Girls).
She loves to boost the self-belief of her female fans and admits she also needs assurance sometimes.
“I am all about giving women strength. We are so incredible, I am so happy I am a woman,” she said during an interview on British TV show Lorraine. “I always try to write songs and sing songs that I need to hear to reinforce my ideas and my confidence.”
Beyoncé also revealed that her interest in fashion inspires her music.
The 30-year-old star has a ready-to-wear fashion line with her mother Tina Knowles called House of Deréon. She says that her passion for clothes and music often overlap.
“I definitely think the music is very, very similar – especially with this album 4, to the global nomad, which is the theme of the fashion show,” she replied when asked how her music is inspired by fashion. “Basically it is taking inspiration in everything beautiful from every culture, and mixing it together to become your own gumbo. This is like a fashion gumbo and my music is like a musical gumbo.”
