Music Crowns, UK and Ireland Online Music Awards for Unsigned Artists, has just announced its top ten finalists in the categories of rock, pop and urban music selected via a specialist Music Crowns committee including judges Samantha Mumba, Jon Morter, Adam Ficek and Justice Williams MBE to name a few.
With a presentation at The House of Commons under their belts and the largest social media presence in the UK and Ireland for an award of this nature, Music Crowns are turning heads and even attracting mainstream press, radio and TV coverage despite just 18 months of existence.
The finalists will now face the public vote (mid-July) and have won the opportunity to play at the very first Music Crowns Festival in Brentwood, Essex at the picturesque Weald Country Park on August 6th and 7th. Headlining will be Stacey Solomon, Skepta, Fugative, McLean, Mutya Buena, Egypt, The Rifles, Toploader, Missing Andy, The Milk, Brandon Block, Artful Dodger, Headphones & Heels, Simon Webbe, Mikee B and there will also be special guest appearances from The Only Way Is Essex main man Mark Wright and DJ Lauren 'Popey' Pope.
The weekend promises to be a fun family day out as much as a party for the clubbers and a showcase for the cream of unsigned UK and Ireland talent with:- two licensed lounge bars, VIP areas, an afterparty at Eclipse Nightclub, games and competitions, a fairground, meet and greets with celebs and special guests and food and drink from across the World.
Co-founder Sam Gilbert said of the finalists "Without disrespect to last year's final 30 this year has been an amazing crop of entries. Quite simply the bar has been raised for 2011 - at one point we had 72 shortlisted candidates in the rock category alone! I really cannot wait for the public, press and media to witness the standard first hand and have no doubt about anybody who has managed to make this elite group, I am just sorry we could not offer every body a festival slot."
