Forget Jacko and McCartney, Jason and Kylie or Chaz N Dave, the greatest partnership in music history has landed. THE king of snack food, Pot Noodle has teamed up with THE dons of donk, the Blackout Crew in a milestone music announcement.
Pot Noodle are bringing the massively popular underground donk genre to the masses and to mark this monumental partnership, they are offering 10,000 full length free downloads of their debut exclusive Pot Noodle track ‘Sticky Rib – Mate, you gotta rib it up.’
‘Sticky Rib’ is the first collaboration between the Bolton based lads – also known as ‘the Beatles of Donk - and Pot Noodle. The track featuring Pot Noodle’s Steve and Digger underscores the current TV advert for new flavour ‘Sticky Rib’ which sees Pot Noodle fanatics ‘rib it up’ on the dance floor.
The Blackout Crew are most famed for their 5.5m viewed internet sensation Put a Donk On It, which launched the donk genre in to the mainstream in 2008. Donk combines the best of high-speed bouncy house with rapping to create their distinctive donk sound.
Tony Sabanskis, producer of the Blackout Crew said “Diddy did it with Courvoisier, we are doing with Pot Noodle. We make bangin’, quick beats, they are the bangin’ quick snack. It just makes sense and we’re glad Pot Noodle are giving us this platform.’
Tom Denyard, Pot Noodle spokesperson said, “By working with the Blackout Crew we hope to spread some donk around the UK and give Pot Noodle fans a flavour for the underground. Just like new Sticky Rib, it’s pretty tasty - and most definitely hasty. ‘Rib it Up’ has gone down a treat so we look forward to seeing what the boys come up with for us next….”
Pot Noodle’s Sticky Rib advert, featuring The Blackout Crew track, first aired 11 June 2010. 10,000 full length version downloads will be available from Monday 12th July – log on to www.urbanworld.co.uk
