Kaiser Chiefs will avoid a chart war with Oasis by releasing their follow up to Yours Truly, Angry mob a week after the Manchester band's new album.

Both albums were scheduled for release on October 6, with the bands fighting for No 1 on the UK Albums Chart.

Kaisers frontman Ricky Wilson previously told The Sun: “Music has moved on and I think we are the band that most music fans see as the successor to Oasis.”

It was expected that a head-to-head battle for the top spot would ensue, just as Oasis had with Blur in 1995.
