This week more than 200 bands will take to the stages of Brighton’s premier venues showcasing some of the most exciting music and talent from around the world.

The Great Escape has now established itself as the perfect springboard launching the careers of the bands of tomorrow. Last year the festival was able to showcase a then little known Adele and budding new acts in the shape of Jack Penate and Kate Nash. This year Sam Sparro, Alphabeat, Santogold, Ebony Bones and The Ting Tings are amongst those being tipped for much bigger and greater things.

The wide and varied programme offers something for everyone. It covers a diverse range of musical genres amongst which are;

Aside from the main festival program visitors to the Great Escape will be in for some big surprises. Each day of the festival some great names will be performing ‘Secret Gigs’ around town.
