The madcap tale of T. Rex founder Marc Bolan is coming to the big screen, courtesy of rising Hollywood star Scoot McNairy reports Mtvmovieblog.com.

The actor, currently headlining the indie film “In Search of a Midnight Kiss,” has nabbed the rights to the life story of the 1970’s glam rock pioneer who perished in a car crash at age 29.

Audiences will become intimately familiar with the woman behind the wheel of the doomed auto: she was Bolan’s girlfriend, Gloria Jones. “The story is told through her eyes of all the recordings that she did that never got put out,” McNairy says, also referencing the public controversy that spawned from the white English musician dating the African-American soul singer. “It’s a love story with all of the music.”

With McNairy sticking to producing duties, a search is now underway for the “perfect guy” to play the eccentric Bolan.
