Malcolm’s participation in this year’s Summer Hit Song Contest aired on ONE was his initial challenge in a local festival, since he is more into the local radio scenario. His submission, ‘Ale’O’, penned by Billy J. and composed by Minik Cini, has been a great success due to its genre of music which is closely related to the summer months. The melodic tune of the song managed to capture the immediate attention of the listeners, and the term ‘Ale’O’, which is highly repetitive throughout the entire song, stimulated the public to sing along with it.
These truths have been reflected later, in the contest’s final results, as the song was placed second by the general public and amongst the Top 10 songs by the professional jury appointed to evaluate the contest’s final night. Preceding the attained success in this contest, Malcolm was invited to support Buddie Holly’s UK Tribute for an hour in the ‘Birkirkara International Music Festival’ put up in the first week of August. Malcolm’s future plans include his participation in the TV programme ‘Sfera’ aired on Favourite Channel as one of its resident singers during the upcoming winter schedule.
