Another new single from the incandescence that is Elles Bailey, the second from her forthcoming album ‘Beneath The Neon Glow’.
Elles is not a newcomer – she has forged a career through a massive amount of hard work, constant touring, in the studio at all times, and the single is her thanks to a loving husband who is always there at the end of an exhausting tour. “You have to be a certain selfless type of person who supports another to realise their dreams and that's exactly the type of person I married,” Elles muses. “So this is an incredibly autobiographical open love letter to my husband. The track is inspired by me missing my train home from London and coming back really late at night feeling exceptionally guilty as I had been away so much, but instead the light outside our house was on and that small gesture just felt so welcoming and supportive and the next day, this song was penned.”
The single is a fast paced and guitar driven piece of Americana, whether it is the pedal steel wailing in the back or the stunning solo at the bridge. But it is Elles voice that makes the single special, that husky contralto that is now very recognizable.
Elles will be on tour from September to December.
