Jason Derulo is without a doubt one of the biggest male stars on the planet but it seems that he is about to get even bigger. With the release date of his album creeping closer and closer, Jason took to the stage at Under the Bridge in Chelsea (literally IN the Chelsea football club grounds!) for his intimate Album Launch party and of course, Music News were invited so Tasha Demetriou went down to check it all out!

The venue itself is pretty special and is perfect for gigs like this. But what made it even better is how it was given a Derulo-esque makeover with his logo across pretty much every surface in sight... the bar, TV screens, tables and even cool beer mats! The best thing out of them all though, had to be the Jason Derulo temporary tattoos that were being given out all night with cheesy (yet still pretty cool) and very on topic slogans on them including, ‘Talk Dirty To Me’ and ‘Marry Me’.

Anyway, back to the show! After all this was Jason’s first proper show over here since he broke his neck in 2012… no pressure! We all know he likes to put on a show, but with a bag of brand new hits under his (barely there) sleeve, we didn’t quite know what to expect. Let’s just say, we were all treated to an incredible performance from the star and from the second he walked onto the stage, the atmosphere in the room was electric.

Mr Derulo took to the stage with an army of 4 dancers that were more than ready for combat. In between Jason’s quick outfit changes, his dancers held the fort for him on stage by wowing us all with their incredible routines. It’s not often you go to a show and actually don’t mind the main artist disappearing for a minute!

Jason performed all of his biggest hits including ‘In My Head’ and ‘Whatcha Say’ and also played us tracks from his new album ‘Tattoo’. He went on to sing ‘Marry Me’ which he performed beautifully. It was just him and a microphone, so simple yet so effective. It proved a nice difference to his usual up-tempo performances where we see him gliding around the stage.

Looking more comfortable than ever on stage, you wouldn’t have thought that last year we didn’t know if the young star would ever be able to walk again. ‘Talk Dirty’ is the latest single from Jason, and it went down a storm with the crowd. Adding a special ‘dance break’ section into the track, Jason proved that he belonged on that stage and that he certainly knew how to put on a show. London crowds are known for their lack of excitement, but that was not apparent at this show. The front of the stage was crowded by excited fans and competition winners who were screaming at awe the entire show. Jason even took one lucky fans phone onto the stage and started taking pictures of himself!

All in all, a fantastic show full of energy from the beginning to the end!
