Kids In Glass Houses

Welsh rockers Kids In Glass Houses opened their “Peace tour”: their current tour to promote their new 4th album “Peace” for release on Monday 30th September. The venue of choice was the O2 Academy in Liverpool, a venue they’ve played a fair few times over the years supporting bands like You Me At Six and promoting their second album “Dirt”.

Growing year in year out over the past ten years and 4 albums, the Welsh lads have amassed quite a large number of fans and the modestly small venue tonight was filled to the rafters with punters (they could have easily filled it twice over). With brilliant sets from supports Propellers and American pop punk band Cartel, the crowd were sweaty and most of all eager for KIGH to come on please them.

They came on and smashed through a set packed with new tracks from their new album as well as some crowd pleasing classics. Opening with the opening track for Peace also called Peace and playing new songs like VIP, Runaways and Stormchasers the audience got a taste of what to expect with the new album. KIGH included mosh pit fuelling anthems like Artbreaker and Youngblood to keep the energy going during the lively hour long set. Best track of the night had to go to one of their first hits from their first album Saturday which topped the night off. By the end no one in the exhausted crowd was disappointed with the gig firmly in stating that British rock music is still thriving and it’s of course here to stay.
