Some time has passed since The Pigeon Detectives first burst onto the music scene with their critically acclaimed album “Wait for Me”. Since then the band have failed to produce the kind of indie gems that were so plentiful on the first album. However the latest track from the band entitled “l Won’t Come Back” is a real return to form for the Leeds lads.
The song is taken from the new album “We Met at Sea” that is scheduled for release on the 29th of April. It has everything a single release from an indie rock outfit should have with catchy lyrics, thrashing guitars and a thumping beat that will have you tapping your feet in no time.
The song opens with an impressive guitar riff that ripples away underneath front man Matt Bowman’s voice. The song evolves beautifully and cruises into an anthemic chorus. Despite being called “I Won’t Come Back” you will certainly find yourself coming back and listening to this track again and again. This song has festival banger written all over it but only time will tell if the rest of the album will be as good as this release.
