Quite rightly, there were big expectations for this album. With lead singer Danny O’Donoghue appearing on popular BBC1 show ‘The Voice” this year, not only the bands publicity but also the expectations on their music was high. I wasn’t surprised to see fellow “The Voice” judge Will.i.am on the track list but the question lingering in the air…will they make good music?

I would say for the most part – yes! In my opinion, I didn’t believe Will.i.am and The Script would be able to mix their voices as they’re quite different but somehow they made it work. The song ‘Hall of Fame’ is really quite catchy and conveys a nice message. Kudos to the band as the music is flawless and actually quite uplifting! A definite feel good song.

Another honorable mention song wise is definitely ‘Good Ol’ days’, which is just unique. The lyrics are just perfect and the ‘rap’ type singing work flawlessly. At first, it took me a while to get into but after a few listens it’s a definite favourite of the album.

‘Six degrees of separation,’ is another brilliant one! The lyrics are particularly clever and the catchy tune just tops it off. And finally ‘If you could see me now,’ is alright, is kind of reminded me of a not so good Eminem. In my opinion the rap just doesn’t mix with the chorus, which actually has some really nice lyrics in there. Still worth a listen.

Overall, it’s a must have. Yes some songs aren’t as strong as others but if you’re a Script fan then I’m pretty sure you’ll love it all.
