Day Four, is nothing like the first single Octopus, with the only similarities being that they were both released in July and are both masterstrokes. Day Four is fairly reminiscent of a combination of tracks on Bloc Party’s second album ‘A Weekend in the City’.

When you listen to Day Four, you are immediately fixated on its mellowness and calmness throughout. The vocals from lead singer Kele Okereke are beyond beautiful, which really excel in the chorus of Day Four. The gentle accompanying guitar woos you into a world of peace and tranquility.

With great diversity and quality shown in the 2 releases so far, Bloc Party really have arrived back on the music scene with a bang. Bloc Party are generally known for their fast and eccentric live performances, however Day Four is more than a nice surprise in the opposite direction.

It certainly could be one of their greatest songs to date....
