Fresh from wowing the crowd at the Big Top stage of the Isle of Wight Festival 2012, Katy B, wrapped up tight in a cardigan, bears the arctic style winds to briefly chat to Music News about her time at IOW and who she wouldn't mind getting muddy with.

How's the festival been for you?

It's been amazing! Before I went on it started to rain, but I was performing in the Big Top, which was great because more people came to watch.

Is there anyone you've seen today that you loved?

I haven't seen anyone yet, but I really wanted to go and see Stooshe, because I use to go to school with Karis [Anderson], but they were on just before I was so I couldn't, I was busy getting my makeup done. Hopefully I'll get to see them at the next gig, but later on I'm going to see Magnetic Man.

Do you have any other festival plans this summer?

Yes, I'm performing at Somerset House: Summer Series on the 8th of July, that's my headline show and I'm really looking forward to it, because we're going to make it extra special. There's going to be extra production and Devlin is supporting me, so I'm looking forward to that too.

What do you think is the most special thing about the Isle of Wight Festival?

It's a beautiful place, being in the countryside is also nice, because it's completely different from urban London and it's a historic festival as well, which means there's a great vibe - there's a bit of everything.

What are the good and bad things about performing at a festival compared to a smaller show?

I think every setting has it's pluses and minuses. Somewhere more intimate is amazing, because you can see people's faces and you get to really perform for people and tell them a story, but somewhere that's bigger is also pretty amazing too.

So who would you want to get muddy with at a festival?

Oh wow, I don't know! I wouldn't want to get muddy with a mud wrestler, so that rules all of them out, but I'm not sure. Right now I'm really cold so I wouldn't want to get muddy with anyone, I don't like the cold.
