Sharing the stage with the likes of Jessie J, Tinie Tempah and Pearl Jam at the Isle of Wight Festival 2012, British rapper Labrinth chats to Music News about his pre-show excitement and swapping his signature high-tops for wellies.

How does playing at a festival compare to playing smaller shows?

Playing big festivals is the best thing in the world to me, because I remember being in my local park and a festival would come to town and it'd be the best day ever. That vibe for me is the best feeling and so I love festivals, plus I don't like being inside much, it's a bit claustrophobic.

Do you go camping?

I actually haven't tried festival camping yet, there's quite a few festival things that I haven't tried yet, I'm a camping virgin, but I need to get in there. This time I've got my wellies, it's just the camping I need to do now.

Is there anyone you're looking forward to seeing today?

I'm just really being open to everyone and everything today, I'm going to jump in there, get involved with the audience and just jump about.

What's your favourite song to play live?

My favourite song to perform is a song on my record called 'Sweet Riot', look out for it.
