Day Two of the festival and excitement was beginning to reach fever pitch as talk of the previous nights exploits mixed with anticipation of the hours ahead. Rich Denton reports

Sentric Music kicked things off in the tiny basement of Heebies Jeebies with Oxford folk rockers Ute offering up the perfect apéritif to the evening ahead. There was plenty of pre festival hype for two local bands playing at the Bombed Out Church, Outfit and the masked Clinic. Both didn't disappoint and offered a clear signal of the strength of the Liverpool music scene.

As if to bolster that previous sentence another local talent Miles Kane was taking to the stage on the other side of town at St George’s hall. His triumphant return home following a busy touring schedule and release of long player 'Colour Of The Trap' served as a warning to those who thought he was just a fashionable friend of Arctic Monkey's frontman Alex Turner. Miles was clearly enjoying playing to his home crowd and with an ever growing back catalogue of stylish songs he is sure to make further waves this summer. Worth a mention as well is support act Morning Parade who filled the concert room with their epic sound.

Bido Lito! - who kept everyone informed throughout the festival with their fantastic free daily magazine (well done guys!) - were curating an event at the Static Gallery and while the majority awaited Wave Machines, US rockers Colourmusic offered up a feast of sound and one of the highlights of the weekend to boot

The Kazimier still the hippest of our city venues was hosting "Drowned in Sound presents" and most notably Philadelphia's Kurt Vile who was receiving the plaudits across the social networks into the early hours
