After attending the last Oasis gig in 2009 I’ve been patiently waiting to see how the Gallagher brothers would continue with their own projects. It was no surprise that Noel would continue with a solo album, but when he confirmed that his album would be ‘Later rather than sooner’ it fell to Liam to continue the Oasis legacy… welcome Beady Eye.

Beady Eye consist of former Oasis band mates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock alongside bass player Jeff Wooton (Gorillaz) and Mat Jones on Keyboard.

The Troxy couldn’t be a more appropriate venue for the beery and dare I say it rowdy crowd which is often used as a boxing venue.
Opening the set with ‘Four Letter Word’ from their debut album, 'Different Gear, Still Speeding' the crowd jumped around and sang along as if it were a well known Oasis classic. The band continued with tracks from the album including singles ‘Bring The Light’ and ‘The Roller’

Speaking little between songs, Liam asked the crowd ‘How’s it sound out there?’ to which the crowd responded with chants of ‘Liam! Liam!’ This mantra continued between most breaks during the set.

Playing for a little over an hour Liam finally announced ‘Right London, this is our last song. Nice one for coming out, see you again’.

The band left the stage returning for a one song encore, a cover of ‘Sons Of The Stage’ by World Of Twist.

We don’t expect Beady Eye to be as successful as Oasis and to be fair it would be a pretty hard job but after such an inception I look forward to the future of Beady Eye and the direction Liam decides to take his new vehicle. Beady Eye play another sold out gig at The Troxy tonight then head to Europe.
