She has sold more than 30 million albums and 45 million singles worldwide and has had thirteen top ten singles in the UK alone. Now Pink has released her ‘Greatest Hits...So Far!!!’
The album is a timeline of her music, and it shows how it has evolved over the years. It contains the best songs from her five studio albums, ‘Can’t Take Me Home,’ ‘M!ssundaztood,’ ‘Try This,’ ‘I’m Not Dead’ and ‘Funhouse.’
This album definitely reflects Pink’s best work to date, though I was quite sad to see that ‘God is a DJ’ has not been included on it. The old classics ‘Get the Party Started’ and ‘Just Like a Pill,’ are on there, plus her last UK number one single, ‘So What.’
There are three new songs on the ‘Greatest Hits...So Far!!!’ album. ‘Raise Your Glass,’ the first single to be released from the album, is proof that Pink is still writing great music. It reached number one in the US and Australia, but narrowly missed the top 10 in the UK. ‘F***in’ Perfect’ is a ballad with a catchy little rap in the bridge. It has already been released as a single in the US. The other song is ‘Heartbreak Down.’ It is not likely to be a future hit. But it makes a good b-side.
The Deluxe Edition, for the ultimate Pink fan, includes a DVD of all of her music videos. There are also some added extras, Dear Mr President live at Wembley Arena, Bad Influence live in Australia, the making of the Funhouse video, and behind the scenes footage of the ‘Greatest Hits...So Far!!!’ photo shoot.
Although releasing a 'Greatest Hits’ is usually a sign that an artist is reaching the end of their career, this is certainly not the case for Pink. Her latest single, ‘Raise a Glass’ shows that her renowned rebellious side has not faded. As she gets ready for motherhood, we hope she doesn’t calm down too much. She may be taking a break, but she’s definitely not done yet.
