Goldfrapp

Genre transcending band Goldfrapp are back with their first single from their forthcoming album 'Head First'. This time they revert back to their 'Supernature' days of 'Oh La La' et al to deliver a lush piece of 80's inspired pop.

'Rocket' is a synth-tastic pop track - sort of Dollar meets Abba, with a bit of a Van Halen 'Jump' opening. It's all great fun, with Alison Goldfrapp's distinctive vocals never sounding so sweet and warm.

It will be interesting to see if the rest of 'Head First' goes the same way; this commercial sound really could be the break into true big time Goldfrapp deserve.
