It seems that only a few months back fans were concerned that Jason Derulo wouldn’t be able to walk again after the injury to his neck, however the pop superstar has fought of that devastating injury and returned back to the UK in support of his new album ‘Tattoo’s’.

Last time Jason Derulo performed in Cardiff was back in 2010 and his popularity has done nothing but consistently rise, arguably due to the unfailingly catchy hits that can be guaranteed for Release by the Miami born singer.

Kicking off the show was Conor Maynard who came packed with an array of fan favourite hits including ‘Animal’, ‘Vegas Girl’ and ‘Can’t Say No’. Maynard who is often compared to as the British version of Bieber was bursting with energy and dominated the stage marking his first appearance in Wales. After performing a short set which included a cover of Pharell’s ‘Happy’, Conor concluded his set with latest release ‘Crazy’ that definitely left the Cardiff crowd wanting more.

As the lights go down, screams filled the Motorpoint arena as Jason kicked the show off in traditional style with his signature name call 'Jay-son Deruuuloooo' as he continued to open with the bouncy ‘My Head’. Dressed in remarkable glittery trousers, his debut single ‘Whatcha Say’ came next and fans were clearly delighted to hear his old classic, especially as he began grinding around the stage in a rather sexual fashion, but of course, it’s Jason so that was to be expected.

Jason performed a variety of tracks from the new album, including ‘Marry.’ Before beginning the number, Jason spoke about how he once thought he would never walk again after breaking his neck and how he was so happy to be able to share his new music with people. ‘Marry’ is a raw song about love which he sang with a standing microphone, a welcome change of style from his usual dance routines.

Body popping his way into Stupid Love and almost out of his blinging cropped sleeve top, a teasing glimpse of the famous Derulo torso is his trademark move for guaranteed screams from the Motorpoint Arena show. Ridin' Solo is next and the screams teeter into the tinnitus danger zone.

After leaving the stage for a brief encore, Jason spoke to the crowd about how much he loves the UK saying: “The love is unbelievable,” and even his DJ admitted that he didn’t want to go home, which fitted well with the next song ‘Don’t Wanna Go Home,’ during which Jason ripped his vest off to reveal a very toned body, before concluding the set with the chart storming ‘Trumpet’s’, sending a very satisfied crowd on their way back home.
