fiN released their second single “Everybody Dies Alone/Rapture” at the Borderline in London. Despite the impending snow, fans queued outside in their droves showing that this band have earned their right to headline after a year of supporting the likes of Incubus and Feeder.

Described as the “heaviest band to come out of indie” might sound like a lot to live up to, “Rapture” certainly delivers this description with heavy guitars and enough angst to make anyone feel like an angry teenager. The band have also been bestowed the terrible title of future grunge - Kurt Cobain will be rolling in his grave hearing such a ludicrous statement.

“Everybody Dies Alone” is a melodic tune with hints of Coldplay’s Paradise and a sprinkling of Muse mixed in for good measure. However, with the reputation they have built for themselves, it seems a little quiet.

The second single has enough gravity that it deserves radio play and would be wasted on MySpace alone. fiN are a band who sound like they have longevity with the lyrics to match - they just need to keep the great melodies and turn up the heavy.
