Tiesto’s back with his biggest track of 2015 and surefire hit, “Secrets.” Produced with KSHMR and featuring vocals from Vassy, “Secrets” is out now on Musical Freedom Records.
The vocals, definitely bring the track to life, it might otherwise be accused of sounding a bit samey.
It was first played by Tiesto at Rio Music Carnival in Brazil and its being played by all the electronic/ dance music DJs at the moment but I don't know how memorable it is. The song isn't bad at all, the vocals are strong and the beat melodic. It's certainly a fist pumper, and reminiscent of the Ibiza/ Napa circuit.
It's just what you'd expect. But isn't that the problem?
It probably sells well and if DJs are getting it out there, then for all involved that's a success. But artistically... Call me idealistic but artists should be just that, artistic, and being innovative should be a bit of a prerequisite right?
Anyway, there's a good chance it's getting lost in a club set.
When the song finally drops the track comes slightly more to life- although the vocals are good and the melody is strong, I don't see anything that differentiates this track from the others of its kind, others that are doing the same thing and in plenty of cases doing it better.
