It’s actually quite difficult to pin down The Outdoor Types.

One Legged Elvis is not as rock ‘n’ roll as you’d expect from the title, being firmly in the jangly indie camp, albeit with a flute in the mix. Drinking Ballad is more into pop territory but the off kilter drumming gives the song a more avant garde edge. The Snake is garage rock with a psychedelic touch. We then come to a live version of Don’t Look For Me...I’m Dead which is prog rock, and very good it is too!

So, what could be perceived as a comedy band, going from the title to the EP, actually turns out to be a collection of varied, interesting and catchy songs. They have an album out and should be well worth investigating.
