How important is music to you/why: Being a music teacher, I make my living out of music so practically my world revolves around it.
Can you share with us something curious/funny which happened to you when performing: While performing with my band “JAMM” in an outdoor activity, there was a power cut in the middle of a song which left us all in the dark with only the drummer being heard... After a few seconds the lights came back again along with our instruments. However the audience thought that it was part of the show.
From the current *GTP finalists, who would you choose to duet with/why:There are a lot of good singers... I would choose either Rita Pace or Joe George Micallef as I could learn something from their vast experience.
A typical weekday for you from morning to night: Wake up early to prepare for work, then off to teach at Naxxar Middle School, the rest of the day I spend either with my girlfriend, my band, my football mates or working on different projects which usually involve charity musical events.
How do you like to spend your weekends: With my girlfriend, enjoying a nice meal at a restaurant or a nice night in watching a good movie.
Can you forecast who will win the festival this year: Not really, as I have not heard the other songs yet. But I met the singers and they were all very nice.
L-Ghanja Tal Poplu champions our national language. Do you think Malta should send a GTP winner to sing in Maltese at Eurovision one year and why/why not: In my opinion the ‘Ghanja tal-Poplu’ is on a totally different platform than the Eurovision song contest. While ‘Ghanja tal-Poplu’ focuses on the music, the Eurovision focuses on the show. However I feel that we should include more Maltese influences in the song which represents our country.
Your musical influences: Danny Elfman and Alan Menken. Your inspiration in life: My father and my grandfather, both very remarkable men.
A message to our readers?: Keep supporting Maltese artists and their music. Maltese music is an important factor in our culture which we should all embrace.
