There is something about a Canadian in a thick woolly jumper that trumps a hipster from Hackney. Hannah Georgas is in Europe to show us what the Canadians are raving about - think Florence Welch's hair with the voice of Hannah Reid from London Grammar. Recently up for a Juno - the Canadian, and therefore cooler, Brit Awards - alongside music legend and eventual winner Leonard Cohen, Hannah's latest self-titled album shows off a more vulnerable yet creative side.

Hannah describes herself as a pop, electronic singer-songwriter, a vibe that shines through in stand-out track "Waiting Game". She may have been billed as "the next Feist" but the latest album crosses 80s synths with the upbeat sounds that have made Two Door Cinema Club so successful creating her own identity quite apart from Miss Feist.

Fresh from a German road trip with Lilly Wood and the Prick, Hannah is hoping to have some quiet time at home to be inspired and do what she does best, writing lyrics for a follow up album. But fear not Georgasites, Hannah is releasing a new track shortly but all I could gleam was something about dog racing and the Arizona desert - we wait with baited breath.

I caught up with an exhausted Hannah after flying in from a gig in Germany and chatted about her whirlwind of a year, the Junos and how she would love to live in the UK. Hear the interview in full below.
