The sun was shining, and the atmosphere was buzzing! Field Day Festival in the heart Victoria Park, Hackney was an amazing start to the festival season and had a real fun community vibe.

With ten or so stages, and ample food and drink options to keep you feed and watered there was something for everyone!

The Tradiio x 405 stage hosted the likes of the duo Kaledia & Hip Hop artist Antix. Tropics then stormed the stage as the last act of the night performing various tracks from his latest album “Rapture” including his album titled single.
Chris Ward commonly known as the psychedelic pop electronic artist captured every member of the audience during this set, inviting us all into his tropical forest of musical textures and sound. Electricity splintered through the air as the audience came alive with every passing track he performed especially the obvious favourite “Popup Cinema” - there is no doubt Tropics connects!

Although there was a slight overlap with stage times between FKA Twigs & Caribou, which was more than a little frustrating; after a frantic run from one stage to another I still managed to get the best bits! It goes without saying that both of these headliners stole the show. FKA Twigs confidence commanded the stage and her performance was effortless! Dreamily dancing us into hazy world of hypotonic electronic, the eagerly anticipated, and melodically intoxicating hit “Two Weeks” evidently turn fans into mega fans & simply spectators into curious downloaders!

Caribou performed on the Eat Your Own Ears stage finishing up Saturday’s festivities. Dan Snaith pleased fans with tracks such as “Can’t Do Without You” and 'Odessa'. His ability to amalgamate dance music with electro-pop ballads gives him a unique forward thinking twist that sets him apart in this ever growing industry!

Many others hit the stages during day one of Field Day including Kindness, Jungle, Rae Morris, Patti Smith & Sylvan Esso. Overall Field Day was definitely a summer starter with array of blossoming and established talent feeling the ear waves of all those that ventured to the heart of East London!
