Favourite sport ?: I play handball mostly at school. I love this sport. I also like watching football.

Favourite TV show?: Just about anything on the Disney Channel.

Favourite holiday destination? Why?: I like England, where we used to live. It is nice, a bit different than Malta. I also like Italy, I travelled to Italy a lot to appear on RAI Uno’s show Ti Lascio Una Canzone. There I made many friends and I have learnt to speak the language.

When and how did your life in music start? : My Grandad took to me to karoke and I got a taste for music. Then I started taking vocal lessons. Miss Gillian introduced me to the style I sing today. She encouraged me to take part in Ti Lascio Una Canzone in Italy.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years from now? I don’t know. That seems a long way away. But I want to continue with music. I like it a lot.

School or Music! Which do you prefer and why? : I love music but I am working hard with my studies too so I would have to say both.

Share with us a typical day when you have a performance?: Most of the hard work is in the days before a performance. I see my vocal coach often. I have exercises to do every day. And there are choreography lessons too.

What was your feeling when you realized you had been chosen as Malta’s next representative for JESC 2014?:

I was thrilled and excited. I am proud to be representing our beautiful country, Malta. I am proud to be Maltese.

Many say that Malta is too small for ambitious talent. Do you agree and why/why not?:

There’s a lot of talent in Malta. Tenor Joseph Calleja is famous the world over. And look at my friend Gaia, who won Junior Eurovision last year.

What are your musical influences?:

Joseph Calleja, Rod Stewart, Sam Smith, Lana Del Ray, Sarah Brightman and John Legend.

Would you like to send a message to the MusicNewsMalta followers?:

Thank you for all your support. I was was excited to perform at the Joseph Calleja concert at the Granaries this summer and I hope you will all cheer me in the final of Junior Eurovision on 15th November.
