The terribly named Chin of Britain (Quickspace, Dark Captain) has released a couple of songs from an eponymous album.

The lead track Nothing Changes a times recalls Pink Floyd’s early singles; the ones that failed and convinced them to concentrate on albums. Having said that, it does have a certain charm; it’s a pacey number, all psychedelic guitars, spiralling keyboards, and ever so fey vocals.

So Good to be here Again is far gloomier in tone, gothic. The dirgy, droning guitars, overlaid vocals, heavy bass, all initially create a wall of noise that as the song progresses merge into a morass, save for a break mid-way, then start to disentangle, with the song actually taking a brighter hue.

If these tracks are truly representative, of the forthcoming album then we could have something quite interesting, if not easy, to listen to.
