This is some powerful stuff and playing it last night (Halloween dontchano) it fell perfectly into line with the mood and the night. Next day and they still sound as bright and dark – a fine new find.

Almost all covers but somehow they have added their own sound to the album and you find yourself listening to classics like ‘Train Kept A-Rolling’ with fresh ears.
Alfie Falkenbach on vocals reminds me of Alex Harvey in keeping his voice on the edge of insanity but still delivering while Shorty Van Camp and Fonzie Verdickt are powerful guitarists, never trying to outshine the songs. Rhythm section of Frans Risicka (bass) and Georges Milikan (drums) drive the sound and keep a tether on the excess.

Kudos for doing a fine version of Gary Wright’s (Spooky Tooth) ‘Better By You, Better Than Me’, totally outstripping Judas Priest’s version and Robert Johnson’s ‘If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day’ becomes a heavy rock/Blues without losing the original song strengths.

‘Mean Ol’ Woman Blues’ is the only song written by the band and it is also the only one where Falkenbach doesn’t sound really convincing but the playing on the song is fine and the sorrow in the number sounds genuine.

All told, I’m happy to have found a new band and an album that will bear a lot of listening in the near future.
