In a world of many complications it is a rare pleasure to hear something as simplistically pleasurable as this latest album from Andy Burrows. Fall Together Again is his third solo release under his own name - following previous work with Razorlight and his current day job of drummer with We Are Scientists.

The album sparkles throughout with Beatles-like songwriting and melodies and there are many moments that sound a little like other bands captivated by Lennon-McCartney. On the perky All This I've Heard Before there are echoes of Jellyfish, while Crowded House in their prime would have been proud of You Won't Find Love. There's the 70s FM rock feel of Squeeze-like City To Coast, while strangely there are elements of Hurts on Who Are You Now? Comparisons though are distracting because such wonderfully crafted pop music should be just enjoyed.

Already a regular on the Radio 2 playlist - thanks to the success of his previous album Company - Burrows is set to start filling out venues of larger size than Dingwalls (where he plays in October). While mouthy Johnny Borrell was the ego in Razorlight - it seems the talent was hidden at the back of the stage, with this superb release from Burrows, coming off the back of impressive work - not only with We Are Scientsis - but also Smith & Burrows and his BAFTA-nominated soundtrack for The Snowman and The Snowdog.
