What more can be said about a band that has been performing since 1981? America trash metal legends Metallica will be playing multiple festivals as part of their Metallica by Request tour. Despite 33 years of touring Metallica have found an innovative way to capture their fans imagination; the fans get to choose the setlist!
Having seen Metallica several times I have always had a gripe about their setlist so getting the chance to choose is a fantastic idea. So far their tour around South America has seen them playing more of their infamous black album with ‘The Unforgiven’ and ‘Battery’ regularly appearing on the bill. Metallica continue to shun their recent work with tracks from their St. Anger and Death Magnetic albums rarely featuring, leaving more time for favourites from Master of Puppets and Kill ‘Em All albums.
Ticket-holders for any of the upcoming summer’s festivals featuring Metallica will be able to vote by visiting www.metallicabyrequest.com. Once you are registered you can select the entire setlist you want to hear and see what is currently leading the votes.
Metallica will be appearing at: Rock im Park (6th June), Rock AM Ring (8th June), Pinkpop (9th June), Rock Werchter (3rd July) and Sonisphere (Switzerland 4th July, UK 6th July) before heading off to Canada for the Heavy Montreal festival. Metallica will be playing a headline slot at all of the above dates.
