Charli XCX recently announced details of her brand new single ‘SuperLove’, set for release on December 1 through Asylum Records, and this week sees psychedelic Brooklyn quartet Yeasayer put their own delightfully wonky spin on it, all tribal beats and layered synth sounds. Stream it at the link above.

Following the recent success of her huge, global hit ‘I Love It’ with Swedish pop duo Icona Pop (the single has now sold over 6 million copies worldwide) Charli’s been working with and for the world’s top writers and artists including Naughty Boy, Benny Blanco, Britney Spears and Rita Ora.

Her publishing was signed by Rihanna/Beyonce mega-producers StarGate and she is currently in the studio writing new material for her second album. Taking inspiration from female-fronted bands from the 80’s such as The Waitresses and Bow Wow Wow, as well as the French Ye-Ye scene from the early 60’s, ‘SuperLove’ sees Charli fronting girl power in true Charli fashion and gives a taste of what’s to come from LP 2, which will be released in 2014.

Having released her debut album True Romance earlier this year to critical acclaim, with a mammoth US headline tour scheduled for October/November, having recently become the face of Max Factor’s Wild Collection and also modelling for Replay Jeans, watch this space for more album details.

Charli headlines London’s Islington Academy on November 30th.
